  • Personal Dashboards are only visible to you.
  • Components that you can display include:
    • Charts - Display data with easy to read charts, users can interact with the chart to drill into the data.
    • Lists (Views) - These will display a table of records and related records for a specific entity.
    • Assistant - Your Assistant will provide insights such as follow-ups to outstanding tasks, and notifications about upcoming events.
    • Timeline - This will chronologically display appointments, communications, and tasks.
    • IFRAME - Display other websites, or specific IFRAME content on a dashboard.
    • Web Resources – Accepts any file type, and can be used to perform advanced customizations.

Step 1 – Navigate to Dashboards and select New, then Dynamics 365 Dashboard.

Step 2 – Choose a Layout and select Create.

Step 3 – Name your Dashboard and add Components.

  • Components can be added by selecting the Icons on the component itself, or by selecting the component and using the Top Navigation.

IFRAME – Name the IFRAME and set a URL (in this case google.ca). Add a Label and choose if you want it displayed on the component. Click Ok.

  • If your IFRAME does not display properly once your dashboard has been published, you may need to adjust security settings for cross-frame scripting.

  • By default google would not work without adjusting security settings so we went with Bing instead.
  • You may need to adjust the Component by selecting the Dropdown and adjusting the Width or Height for proper display as outlined below.

Web Resources – Select a Web Resource located on your server, such as an image in this case. Name the Resource and provide a Label (Select display to have the label show in component). Click OK.

  • There are more advanced capabilities with Web Resources that are not covered in this beginner tutorial.
