One of the issues faced by our clients is that the D365 platform overwrites Optionset values back to baseline whenever greymatter upgrade is released. This results in manual work from Administrators and Functional Analysts who maintain the Optionset values. The Optionset Manager app overcomes this limitation! The Optionset Manager app allows users to store the Optionsets values for every entity including the global Optionsets. This eases the job of managing Optionset datasets and reduces the need for manual data entry thereby reducing the possibility of errors.
Features of Optionset Manager
Flexibility in maintaining Optionset metadata:
We have written Cloud Flows for populating Optionset metadata. The Cloud Flows can be initiated using one of the following ways:
- Populate Optionset Flow: Users can initiate the flow can be initiated from the view or record itself to populate the OptionSet meta data from within the solution itself.

Populate Optionset based on excel: In this method, flow will be initiated by uploading an Excel file in a shared location.

Populate OptionSet on Pipeline Run: In this method, flow will be initiated whenever a pipeline build is completed to update client instance.
Optionset Option Validator
The Optionset Manager app includes a validator to ensure there are no duplicate values when updating the Optionset metadata. If there are any duplicate values, the validator ensures that duplicate values are not allowed and displays a message. The user can correct the errors and reinitiate the Flow.
